    Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu drop to 1500

    Tamil Nadu has been showing a steady decline in cases in the last few months, providing a lot of relief as it has been among the worst-affected in the country. The number of deaths in the State stood at 17 on Tuesday, taking the death toll in the State to 11,639.

    CHENNAI: The number of new Covid-19 cases in Tamil Nadu has declined to 1577 on Tuesday.

    This takes the total tally of cases to 773,176, the State media bulletin confirmed.

    Tamil Nadu has been showing a steady decline in cases in the last few months, providing a lot of relief as it has been among the worst-affected in the country.

    The number of deaths in the State stood at 17 on Tuesday, taking the death toll in the State to 11,639.

    Chennai's cases were under the 500 mark on Tuesday with 469 people testing positive for the infection.

    As many as 1910 people were discharged on Tuesday, taking the total discharges to 749,662.

    Testing, however, went down to 66,634 people. The State touched record levels of testing when over 93,000 people were tested on a single day in October.
