    Earthquakes hits Jammu & Kashmir and parts of West Bengal

    Synopsis

    The earthquake measured 4.6 on the Richter scale, at 5:15 on Wednesday morning.

    Tremors were felt in almost across West bengal, including Kolkata, Darjeeling and Coochbehar.
    A moderate intensity Earthquake shook parts of Jammu and Kashmir Wednesday morning and another rocked West Bengal, officials said.

    The earthquake in J&K measured 4.6 on the Richter scale, at 5:15 on Wednesday morning.

    Officials from the disaster management department said that the epicenter of the of the earthquake was near Kargil town in the Ladakh region of the state of Jammu and Kashmir.

    The epicenter of the earthquake that hit West Bengal is reported to be in Assam. Tremors were felt in almost across cities including Kolkata, Darjeeling and Coochbehar.

    Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur and Arunachal Pradesh too felt light shocks.
