    Heavy rains lash parts of Delhi-NCR; waterlogging fears back, traffic alerts issued

    Last Sunday, many regions of Delhi-NCR saw rampant waterlogging and a number of fatalities following heavy rainfall. Widespread traffic jams had been reported even as the rains brought relief from high temperatures that made the city suffer for quite a few days.

    Heavy rain lashes parts of Delhi-NCRPTI
    NEW DELHI: Delhi and parts of NCR witnessed heavy showers and thunderstorm today afternoon.

    The India Meteorological Department (IMD) had predicted moderate to heavy rain at various places of NCR.

    IMD had forecast thunderstorm with wind speed 20-40 kmph in parts of Northeast Delhi, East Delhi, Preet Vihar, Defence Colony, Southeast Delhi, Noida, Panipat, Gannaur, Baraut, Sonipat, Sohna, Ballabgarh, Dadri, Ghaziabad and Faridabad, news agency ANI reported.

    There were reports of many low-lying regions being submerged under water. Traffic movements were also disrupted in many parts of the city and neighbouring areas.

    Heavy rain is forecast for the region for a day more. Thereafter, according to IMD, the intensify of rainfall is likely to decrease.
