    Karnataka may enforce electric mobility with some vehicles, hints deputy CM

    BENGALURU: Karnataka is aiming at making electric mobility mandatory with certain class of vehicles, provided the electric vehicle (EV) industry provides those products, Deputy chief minister CN Ashwath Narayan on Thursday said.
    He was hinting at introducing EV mobility in areas of public transport to reduce pollution. Bengaluru, he said at the Bangalore Tech Summit, was home to home to e-mobility startups like AtherEnergy, SUN Mobility, NDS Eco Motors, Yulu and Mahindra Electric.

We want to work even more closely with India to mobilise a global action plan at COP26 because we both lead by example," said UK minister of state, foreign, commonwealth and development office Tariq Ahmad of Wimbledon.

    UK Deputy High Commissioner Jan Thompson said Karnataka is leading India in the green initiative by bringing more EVs on roads, installing more charging stations and moving towards green energy.
    "We have initiated more partnerships with the Karnataka government, especially for electric vehicle ecosystem building and also to reduce pollution. We also have a green fund for doing more investment in the space of tech startups in climate change and green energy," she said, and lauded the city level partnership with Bengaluru for launching the Clean Air Testbed Drive initiative on Church Street to reduce pollution.
