Mild earthquake hits Gurugram

A mild tremor with an intensity of 2.1 hit Gurugram today, National Centre of Seismology said.

The epicenter of the earthquake was at the Delhi-Gurgaon border at a depth of 18 kilometre.

Delhi-NCR has seen a number of mild earthquakes in the last several weeks. Scientists have warned of a major eathquake in the region.

Professor P K Khan at IIT Dhanbad’s Applied Geophysics department has also predicted a bigger earthquake at the foothills of the Himalayas. Delhi falls in Seismic Zone IV
