    Nizamuddin Markaz: Maharashtra civic bodies and collectors join search for 480 attendees

    There were at least 480 people from Maharashtra who attended the event in Delhi and the state is on high alert seeking to locate them as several of them who have landed in other states have turned positive.

    MUMBAI: The Maharashtra government has asked all its civic bodies and collectors to be alert and identify those who have attended the Tableeghi Jamat Markaz at Delhi’ Nizamuddin. There were at least 480 people from Maharashtra who attended the event in Delhi and the state is on high alert seeking to locate them as several of them who have landed in other states have turned positive.
    In what is a big worry virtually people from various regions of the state have participated in the event, from Mumbai to Nagpur, from Ratnagiri to Nanded almost every major district has had people participating in the event.

    In the Pune division itself around 180 people had participated in the event and the pune administration has traced 90 of them and have put them in quarantine. According to sources there are some foreigners too who had attended the event and are currently in the state, for instance out of the 46 people in Aurangabad there are at least 29 foreigners. The district administration throughout the state have their hands full as they not only have to trace all the people from the state who attended the event but also trace their steps throughout the state. For instance those from Aurangabad attended went to several other districts in the state.

    In Nagpur 54 people from the state had gone to the event, in chandrapur there were 49. In nashik there were 21. Nagpur Municipal Commissioner Tukaram Mundhe announced that all the 54 who had gone to the event have been found and have been quarantined.

    Mumbai had 32 people participating in it and they have already been traced, at least 12 people in Bandra had come from Indonesia, they have all been quarantined.
