PM Modi hails Bihar as powerhouse of talent, inaugurates 3 petro projects ahead of polls

Prime Minister Narendra Modi unveiled three key projects worth Rs 901 crore in the petroleum sector for Bihar on Sunday and reminded people that many infrastructure projects announced by the Centre as part of the special package for Bihar a few years ago have been completed.
“The special package given for Bihar had ten big projects related to petroleum and gas worth Rs 21,000 crore. Of these, it is the seventh project which is being dedicated to the people of Bihar today,” the PM said, inaugurating the Durgapur-Banka section (about 200 km) of the gas pipeline project for which he had laid the foundation stone in 2019.

PM said the “sushasan (good governance) in Bihar” should continue, in a strong pitch for the Nitish Kumar led government in which Kumar has fashioned himself as Sushasan Babu.

The PM praised chief minister Nitish Kumar for playing a big role “in making Bihar come out of the work culture in which one generation used to start the work and the other generation completed it”. Modi made a strong pitch for the JDU-BJP government in the state saying that it had been proved in the past 15 years that if the right government is there which takes correct decisions and has a clear policy, development happens and reaches every person.

Modi also praised the youth of Bihar and said Bihar is the powerhouse of the country’s talent.

“The strength of Bihar and the imprint of Bihar’s labour can be seen in the development of every state. There was a thinking earlier that education was not necessary as the youth of Bihar have to work in the fields. Due to this thinking, not much work was done to open large educational institutions in Bihar. The result was that the youth of Bihar were forced to go out to study, to work. Working in the field, farming is very hard work, but to not give other opportunities to the youth nor make such arrangements, that is not right,” the PM said.

He praised Nitish Kumar for tripling the number of polytechnic institutions in the state and opening two large universities, an IIT, an IIM, a NIFT, and a National Law Institute in Bihar.
