Guwahati: Assam health minister Himanta Biswa Sarma said that Prime minister Narendra Modi has made it clear that no politician should take COVID-19 vaccine now for first right on the vaccine is of front line health workers.
Sarma while talking to media persons on Wednesday said, “Prime minister during the video conferencing has stated that no politician even by mistake will not take the vaccine for the first right on the vaccine is of front line health workers. Even minister or MLA will not get COVID-19 vaccine now.”
A Spicejet freighter ferried over 730 Kg of cargo in 20 boxes on Tuesday having vaccine doses to be distributed for Assam and Meghalaya.

Sarma said, “In second phase teachers, police and armed forces will be administered vaccines and in third phase people above 50 years and people below 50 years with co-morbidity will provided with vaccine.”
Stating that Journalist will not be included in in these phases, he said, “By and large 35 percent of Assam’s population will be covered in these phases.”
