The districts in the Hyderabad-Karnataka region (Kalyana Karnataka) have been badly affected by the flash-floods the continuous rains in the region have caused. The neighbouring Telangana and Maharashtra too have been badly affected.
"We stand in solidarity with our sisters and brothers of Karnataka affected by the floods. Assured all possible support from the Centre in rescue and relief works that are underway," the Prime Minister tweeted. Modi also spoke to the chief minister Uddhav Thackeray of the neighbouring Maharashtra on the floods there.

Yediyurappa, in a tweet, said he has briefed the prime minister about the incessant rains and flash floods, and the relief operations that the government has undertaken. The prime minister has assured all possible help from the Centre, he said. Earlier in the day, the chief minister held a video conference with the deputy commissioners and chief executives of zilla panchayats of the districts affected by rains.
The chief minister on Thursday announced that the government will take up a comprehensive survey of damages after rains stop, and take steps to provide compensation to people.
