When BJP MLAs took a dig at him for having been allotted a seat down the row, ironically, an aisle seat next to the opposition rows, Pilot quipped: "I wondered why my seat was designated here. I thought for two minutes and saw that this is the border between the government and the opposition. Who is sent to the border? The strongest warrior."
Though he was not a listed Congress speaker for the debate, he intervened when BJP again took potshots. He said he and his colleagues sorted out all issues with the "doctor" (read high command) and will now stand to protect the government.
