SC issues notices on a PIL by Muslim women

New Delhi: SC on Wednesday sought formal responses from the central and Maharashtra governments on a PIL filed by a Pune-based woman seeking entry into a local mosque. The woman claimed though she wrote seeking permission, there was no response.

A bench led by CJI SA Bobde issued notices to the ministries of minority affairs, law and justice, NCW, Maharashtra State Board of Waqfs, Central Waqf Council, All India Muslim Personal Law Board, Jamiat Ulama-i-Hind and Darul Uloom Deoband.
