    Tamil Nadu reports 2500 cases; Chennai below the 700 mark

    The State has consistently been showing a decline in cases over the last week, providing some relief in the State which has been among the worst-affected in the country. Chennai reported 688 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, dipping below the 700 mark, the State media bulletin confirmed.

    CHENNAI: Tamil Nadu reported 2,516 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, taking its tally to 716,751 cases, while the death toll on account of the pandemic increased by 35 to 11,018.
    The State has consistently been showing a decline in cases over the last week, providing some relief in the State which has been among the worst-affected in the country.

    Chennai reported 688 new Covid-19 cases on Wednesday, dipping below the 700 mark, the State media bulletin confirmed.

    There was a decline in the number of recoveries too on Wednesday with 3859 people being discharged taking the total recoveries in the state stood to 679,377.

    Testing too went down significantly with 71,147 people being tested for the infection on Wednesday.
