MUMBAI: Sports management firm IOS Sports & Entertainment has signed India’s top ranked men’s double badminton pair Chirag Shetty and Satwiksairaj Rankireddy to look after their endorsements and commercial interest.
The duo joins the likes of Boxing superstars MC Mary Kom and Vijender Singh, Asian Games 2018 Gold medallist Hima Das, Commonwealth Games 2018 gold medallists Manika Batra, Mirabai Chanu, Asian Games 2018 Gold medallist Jinson Johnson and captains of Indian Men and Women's Hockey Team, Manpreet Singh and Rani Rampal respectively.

Shetty and Rankireddy are emerging stars in the BWF men's doubles circuit given their recent performances as they stunned three time world champions and current World No. 2 duo Mohammad Ahsan and Hendra Setiawan of Indonesia in the men’s doubles quarterfinals of the BWF World Tour 750 French Open.

They also went onto defeat World No. 6 pair Hiroyuki Endo and Yuta Watanabe of Japan in the semi final and created history by becoming the first Indian men’s doubles pair to reach a World Tour 750 final, ultimately winning a silver medal.

“We are excited to have Satwik and Chirag on board who are young and exciting prospects for Indian badminton,” said Neerav Tomar, MD, IOS Sports. “They have been performing consistently well at the international circuit from the last 2 years and we are hoping for an outstanding performance from the pair in the Tokyo Olympics 2020. They play with a fearless mindset and on their day, they can give any opponent a tough fight. We look forward to a successful association with them."

Commenting on the new association, Andhra Pradesh born 19 year-old Satwik Rankireddy said, “As athletes we don't have a lot of time to handle our brand portfolios and other commercial commitments. Hence I am happy to be on board with a reputed and professional firm like IOS Sports who have a proven record and long term associations with other elite athletes of the country."

The 22 year-old Mumbai boy Chirag Shetty added, "After some good performances recently, I was looking for a good sports management firm to help me gain visibility and enhance my brand portfolio. I am looking forward to working with IOS."
