Mumbai: The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI) is actively weighing several options, including deferment of Indian Premier League (IPL) to September or October, but hasn’t taken a decision yet to cancel the 13th edition, multiple sources at BCCI and IPL franchises have confirmed to ET.

“Different scenarios are being worked upon, but there is nothing to talk as of now. We are in a wait and catch mode,” said a BCCI official on condition of anonymity.

The board is hopeful of a window later this year. Calls to BCCI president Sourav Ganguly did not elicit any response till press time.

BCCI is in constant touch with all the stakeholders —the franchise owners, media rights owner, and advertisers — as well as the various international cricketing bodies like International Cricket Council (ICC), the Asian Cricket Council (ACC), English Cricket Board (ECB) and Cricket Australia.

A few BCCI office bearers feel that the ICC will have to take a call on the upcoming ICC T20 World Cup, which is scheduled in Australia in October. There are also chances that Asia Cup might get postponed to next year.
