"It now helps close to 8 lakh train travellers every single day across 200+ Indian towns to check train schedules, get live train running status, get PNR status predictions and to view crowdsourced platform numbers, coach positions and train ratings & reviews for all trains in India," said a release, from the company.
ixigo's train app is rated 4.4 out of 5 based on 2.2 lakh user reviews on the Google Play Store, and is growing 15% month-on-month, the release added.
Over 25 million passengers travel on Indian Railways every single day, and the market size of train-related ancillary services is potentially $1 billion per year as per company estimates.
The ixigo trains app also allows its users to book other modes of travel such as cabs, flights and buses through its app and is available in 7 local Indian languages.
