AHMEDABAD: Domestic helper provider aggregator Bookmybai.com, has raised another Pre-series A round of undisclosed amount from the social enterprise incubator Villgro Innovations Foundation.

“The funding will be used for enhancing our technology capabilities and increasing our supply pool in order to meet ever-increasing demand of workers across India” said Anupam Sinhal, founder of BookMyBai.

Last year, Bookmybai.com raised fund in its pre-series A round from ARUN Seed, a Japan-based social venture fund. It raised its first round in 2015 from 50K Ventures.

Founded a little over four years ago by Anupam Sinhal and Vickash Chowdhury, Bookmybai lets households hire domestic helps through its online platform. The portal allows for different categories of domestic helps, such as cleaners, cooks, babysitters, and senior citizen caretakers. They currently operate out of five cities - Mumbai, Pune, Bangalore and recently started their pilot in Kolkata and Ahmedabad.

According to Sinhal, the mind-set has been changing rapidly, which has resulted into even teachers approaching Bookmybai to explore the job of a child governess.

"Bookmybai has tremendous potential to create meaningful impact in a traditionally challenging sector. We will remain committed as they have a deep passion in the sector and strong on-ground execution capabilities in order to create impact,” said Anuja Master Bose, Practice Lead, Villgro Education & Employability.

BookMyBai will also leverage Villgro's unique model of incubation combining high touch mentorship and access to networks to unlock large scale social impact projects.
