    Cognizant acquires Microsoft cloud partner company New Signature

    Mumbai: Technology services provider Cognizant on Tuesday said that it will acquire Microsoft cloud partner company New Signature. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2020. Financial details were not disclosed.

    New Signature is a Microsoft public cloud transformation service provider. According to Cognizant, the acquisition expands the company’s hyperscale cloud advisory services, and will help build up a dedicated group within Cognizant centered on Microsoft cloud solutions. Upon the close of the acquisition, over 500 of New Signature’s employees based in the U.S., U.K., and Canada, will join Cognizant’s newly formed ‘Microsoft Business Group’.

    New Signature will be Cognizant’s fifth cloud-related acquisition in 2020. Cloud has become an area of focus and continued investment for Cognizant.
