AgenciesTata Consultancy Services (TCS) has set up an artificial intelligence (AI)-driven command centre to monitor in real time more than 6,000 examination centres or track 8 lakh exam candidates at a time, a move that is likely to help in checking examrelated malpractices.
The IT services firm uses the data generated after every exam to detect malpractices in real time and find patterns such as a centre’s readiness to conduct an exam or to detect anomalies in answers by candidates, said Venguswamy Ramaswamy, global head, TCS iON.
The company conducts largescale exams for the Railways, Institute of Banking Personnel Selection, and for IIMs, IITs and AIIMS. TCS iON has 12 command centres, of which two are now ‘intelligent command centres’.
“Right from the time the candidate enters and puts in biometrics, to the exam time itself; every exam provides us with data. Even recently, the news of the NEET malpractices in Chennai where one candidate appears and the test is written by someone else... Incidents of this nature can be avoided with image processing algorithms, which will change the game,” Ramaswamy said.
TCS iON has 12 command centres, of which two are now ‘intelligent command centres’.
The other 10 centres will be turned into ‘intelligent command centres’ with an investment of more than ₹5 crore per centre.
