    Mitron TV app pulled from Google Play Store

    A Google spokesperson confirmed that the app had been suspended from the Play Store since it violated its Spam and Minimum Functionality policy.

    Bengaluru: Mitron TV, an app that replicates Chinese short videos platform TikTok, has been taken down by Google Play Store for violating its policies. The Indian app was downloaded more than 5 million times within a month of launch.
    A Google spokesperson confirmed that the app had been suspended from the Play Store since it violated its Spam and Minimum Functionality policy.

    According to the policy, apps should provide users with a basic degree of functionality and respectful user experience.

    “Apps that crash, exhibit other behaviour that is not consistent with functional user experience, or that serve only to spam users or Google Play are not apps that expand the catalogue in a meaningful way,” it states.
