After applying for an Aadhaar card at an enrolment centre, it takes up to 90 days for generation of Aadhaar. This is as per the FAQ section of the Unique Identification Authority of India (UIDAI) website.

You can check the status of your Aadhaar card on the UIDAI website. To check the Aadhaar status, you must keep your acknowledgement slip handy, which you will get at the time of enrolment.

Remember, if you have mentioned your mobile number while applying for Aadhaar card, then the UIDAI will send you an SMS once your Aadhaar is generated.

Here is a step-by-step guide to check the same.

    On the UIDAI's website
    Step 1: Visit www.uidai.gov.in
Step 2: On the website, under the tab, 'My Aadhaar', click on 'check Aadhaar status'
