    PM Kisan eKYC deadline: What happens if you don’t complete eKYC process before Aug 31

    The eKYC deadline for the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Yojana is fast-approaching. The e-KYC completion deadline is August 31, 2022. According to the PM Kisan website, “Deadline of eKYC for all the PMKISAN beneficiaries has been extended till 31st August 2022".

    Beneficiaries who have not completed the e-KYC process should do so immediately to receive the next installment. Under PM Kisan Samman Nidhi Yojana, eligible landholding farmer families receive financial benefit of Rs.6,000 per year, payable in three equal instalments of Rs.2,000 each, every four months.

    The 12th installment should be released any time after September 1, 2022. In order to get this installment amount, the eligible farmer will have to update their eKYC mandatorily before the August 31, 2022 deadline. If this is not done, then the farmers will not receive the 12th instalment amount.

    What is the Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi?
    Pradhan Mantri Kisan Samman Nidhi (PM-KISAN) scheme was launched to provide income support to all Small and Marginal landholding farmer families in order to supplement their financial needs for agricultural and allied inputs, as well as domestic needs.

    The entire financial liability for transferring benefits to targeted beneficiaries will be borne by the Government of India under the Scheme.

    Benefits of the PM Kisan

    Under the PM-KISAN scheme, all landholding farmers' families shall be provided the financial benefit of Rs.6000 per annum per family payable in three equal installments of Rs.2000 each, every four months.

    Are employees of central, state governments eligible to get the benefit under the scheme?
    According to the PM Kisan FAQ, “No. Serving or retired officer and employee of Central/ State Government Ministries /Offices/Departments and its field units Central or State PSEs and Attached offices /Autonomous Institutions under Government as well as regular employees of the Local Bodies are not eligible to get benefit under the scheme. However, serving or retired Multi Tasking Staff / Class IV/Group D employee is eligible to get benefit under the Scheme provided their families are otherwise eligible and not covered under other exclusion criteria.”

    How to do PM Kisan Aadhaar OTP-based eKYC
    Step 1: Visit PM Kisan website
    Step 2: Under farmers corner, click on eKYC tab
    Step 3: In next page, enter your Aadhaar number and click on Search tab
    4-digit OTP will be sent to registered mobile number
    Step 4: Click on Submit OTP
    Step 5: Enter Aadhaar registered mobile OTP

    After successful verification, the eKYC will be completed.
