Ola Electric scooter coming this August 15. Here's what we know so far

Ola Electric will launch its much anticipated scooter this August 15, Bhavish Aggarwal, the CEO of the company, said today.

Ola Electric started taking bookings for its electric scooter in July.

However, not much is known about its specifications yet. The company expected to reveal the features and the price of the two-wheeler soon.

"Thanks to all who have reserved our scooter! Planning a launch event for the Ola Scooter on 15th August. Will share full specs and details on product and availability dates. Looking forward to it!," Aggarwal tweeted along with a picture of the scooter.

Last month, the company signed a $100-million, 10-year debt financing agreement with Bank of Baroda to fund the first phase of its electric two-wheeler vehicle factory in Tamil Nadu. The agreement is the largest long-term debt financing agreement in the Indian electric vehicle industry, the ride-hailing company said.

The EV factory is being built on a 500-acre site in Krishnagiri.

Late last year, Ola said it would invest Rs 2,400 crore into the first phase of the factory. It intends to export its bikes to Europe and Australia. It also has plans to provide charging solutions to all its electric two-wheeler customers through the Ola Hypercharger Network. Ola is expected to build 5,000 charging points across 100 cities.
