    Jewellery brands largest retail advertisers on TV: TAM

    New Delhi: Jewellery stores were the largest among retail advertisers contributing 60% to the total ad volume for the sector on television, according to a report on retail advertising by TAM Media Research for 2020.

    Advertising volumes saw a spike of 1.5 times in the print media in terms volume in the fourth quarter of 2020 compared btonthe first quarter of the year, the report added. Ad space in print witnessed double digit growth
    from October 2020 (for retail sector), the report said.

    Top ten retail advertisers accounted for more than 55% share of TV ad volumes in 2020 with Lalitha Jewellery being the largest advertiser. While jewellery brands were the largest to advertise on TV, retailers for electronica and durables were the largest for print.

    Top ten advertisers from the sector accounted for more than 15% share of ad space in print media with Reliance Retail topping the list in the calendar year.

    News channel topped preference list of Retail players during 2020, the report added.
