Telecom skills body releases explainer on installation, operation of oxygen concentrators

The Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) has released a video explainer on installation and operation of oxygen concentrators to educate healthcare workers, technicians, volunteers and layperson about the maintenance and basic operations of the equipment.

“In view of this fast-developing scenario, the Telecom Sector Skill Council (TSSC) has launched a detailed O2 Concentrator Training Module on its website, tailored for the understanding of all the individuals on the successful installation and operation of the O2 concentrators. This will be available at Free of Cost for the visitors,” it said in a statement on Thursday.

The module is a step by step manual about a concentrator and what are its uses and functions. It explains about the range of O2 concentrator models available in the Indian market and how they work.

“With the rapid adoption of these devices, a need for proper training has become necessary for all front line workers to install, maintain and operate these devices properly. The government has also allowed for gifting of these devices without import duty liability and I foresee there will be a huge influx of these devices in the near future.” said Arvind Bali, CEO, TSSC.

Additionally, TSSC is launching capsule courses targeting domains like Drone Technology and Telemedicine.

“The courses will be launched as an effort by TSSC to spread awareness about such services and devices to help ease the burden on the authorities and organizations who are on the front lines fighting against the COVID-19 pandemic,” the industry body said.
