Good demand from business travellers of tier-II, III, says GoAir chief

HYDERABAD: With improving infrastructure and growing demand from tier-II and III cities, business travellers from smaller cities are on the rise, said Wolfgang Proc-Schauer, chief executive officer, GoAir, on Thursday.

“Businessmen specially from tier-II and III cities is going throughout the country and is not just focussed on the big cities but goes more and more to small cities because infrastructure is better, costs are lower," he said, adding that "This is leading to a rise in business travellers from these cities.”

Schauer was speaking at the occasion of announcing Hyderabad as their 23rd destination.

“With all the big companies in aerospace, IT and pharmaceuticals here, it made sense to be in Hyderabad given its preference as a business hub,” Schauer added. The company plans to add three more destinations by the year end.

Meanwhile, the company is also expanding its fleet of aircrafts and has started receiving aircrafts on a monthly basis. “We have given an order for 144 A320neo by 2025 and has started receiving aircrafts on a monthly basis and will have 26 aircrafts by the year end,” said Schauer.
