Passengers aboard the flights 9W 603 from Delhi to Srinagar and 9W 730 from Delhi – Patna were however safe.
They were "taken to the terminal for re-accommodation in subsequent flights," said a statement from the airline.
"The aircraft are currently being inspected by the Jet Airways engineering team. The airline has reported the event to the regulatory authorities. Both sets of crew have been de rostered pending investigation," said the statement.
Jet has been in the news because of various recent incidents. Recently, a lawyer Kawaljit Singh Bhatia alleged that his 53-year-old mother was harassed by the airline's officials at Delhi airport on 3 May, causing her to have a blackout and injure herself in the process.
A recent media report recently said 32 flyers filed an FIR against the airline for denying them boarding on grounds of late reporting for the flight.
