The Mahindra Group Chairman recently was in awe of the budget-friendly innovation, termed 'jugaad' colloquially, used to make ice cream at home. He took to Twitter to share a video of uniquely-made ice cream with his 10.4 million followers on Wednesday.
He wrote in his caption, "Where there’s a will, there’s a way. Hand-made & fan-made ice cream. Only in India…"
In the video, the homemaker could be seen boiling and thickening flavoured milk. Once done, she transfers the content into a cylindrical container.
The two-and-a-half-minute-long video shows the woman - dressed in a red printed saree - devising a homemade freezer using a ceiling fan, a rope and another large cylindrical container to make ice cream.
The woman placed the main container inside the large cylindrical container and filled it with large ice chunks and pieces of rocks. The main container was attached to the ceiling fan using a rope. After churning the container for a while, the ice cream was ready.
In less than two hours, the post got more than 160K views and was liked by over 13K people.
Calling the video 'amazing', Edelytics founder Anoop Mundhra said that Indian food, including local dishes, is made using innovative ways.
Astrologer Sumit Bajaj was also impressed with the ice cream maker's "great efforts."
