Lewis Horne, chief executive officer, Uniti, told ET: “We recently launched a two-seater electric city car in Europe. There is a big push toward emobility by the Indian government. We are developing a five-seater electric vehicle, which we plan to launch in India early 2020.”
Uniti, along with Bird Group, will display the two-seater electric car and virtual reality impressions of the five-seater electric vehicle at the Auto Expo in Greater Noida to assess local consumer requirements.
The electric car being planned for the market here will have a range of 250 km. It will be positioned in the mass segment and come tagged between Rs 7 and Rs 7.5 lakh, exclusive of government incentives. The company in the process of commencing a market analysis, in collaboration with the Bird Group, to understand the driving habits and needs of Indian consumers.
