'Pathaan' box office collection: Shah Rukh Khan-starrer movie collects Rs 429 crore worldwide in 4 days

Shah Rukh Khan's 'Pathaan' continues its unstoppable run at the box-office.

After crossing the Rs 300 crore-mark on Friday, the experts said that the spy thriller entered the Rs 400 crore club on the fourth day at the box-office since its release on January 25.

The film trade analyst and movie critic Ramesh Bala said that 'Pathaan' crossed Rs 400 crore (gross) collection at the worldwide box-office in just four days.

Hours later, production house Yash Raj Films (YRF) revealed the numbers on social media. The movie made a total collection of Rs 429 crore (gross) globally on its fourth day of release.

Calling it the 'fastest Hindi film to collect Rs 400 crore-plus', the total collection in India were at Rs 265 crore (gross) and Rs 220 crore (nett). The overseas collection stood at Rs 164 crore (gross).

After the constant success of South films like 'RRR', 'KGF: Chapter 2', 'Kantara', 'Ponniyin Selvan: I', and 'Pushpa: The Rise', 2023 seems to be Bollywood's year with the release of 'Pathaan'.

The SRK-starrer emerged as a mass entertainer after Bollywood had a below-average year with many flops in 2022.

On Saturday, the production banner said that the total worldwide gross box office collection after three days stands at Rs 313 crore.

While the total India gross collection for three days was Rs 201 crore, 'Pathaan' collected more than Rs 112 crore from the overseas market, where Shah Rukh Khan has a strong following.

In a press note, YRF said that the much-hyped movie raised Rs 38 crore nett in Hindi format, while dubbed formats earned Rs 1.25 crore nett on the third day. "The total India collection on day three was Rs 39.25 crore nett (Rs 47 crore gross). Meanwhile, the overseas collection was also astronomical as it collected Rs 43 crore gross. The total worldwide collection on day three was an insane Rs 90 crore worldwide gross box office," the banner was quoted as saying in the statement.

'Pathaan' marks King Khan's return to the big screen after five years. It raised Rs 106 crore globally on its opening day, followed by Rs 113.6 crore on day two.

Film trade analyst Sumit Kadel is hopeful 'Pathaan' will become the first Bollywood film to collect Rs 500 crore gross worldwide on its fifth day. He also said that the 'Pathaan' is aiming to beat the lifetime business of 'Baahubali: The Conclusion' (Hindi-version) which had earned Rs 510 crore (nett) on Day 5.

Directed by Siddharth Anand, 'Pathaan' revolves around a spy (played by SRK) who comes out of exile to stop terrorist group Outfit X, led by Jim (played by John Abraham), from launching a debilitating attack on India. Actress Deepika Padukone plays the female lead in the film.

Besides Hindi, 'Pathaan' was also released in Tamil and Telugu on January 25.

It is the fourth film in producer Aditya Chopra's ambitious spy universe, following Salman Khan's 'Ek Tha Tiger' (2012) and 'Tiger Zinda Hai' (2017), and 'War' (2019), featuring Hrithik Roshan and Tiger Shroff.

'Pathaan', which according to YRF has broken some 21 box office records, also has a guest appearance by Salman as fellow spy Tiger.
