Punjab woman knocks on HC door after 'Prince Harry promised marriage'; court quashes 'day-dreamer's fantasy' plea

Prince Harry and Meghan may be in the middle of a royal rift with Buckingham Palace, but the couple is unaware of the courtroom drama centered around them, miles away in India.
The Punjab and Haryana High Court, on Tuesday, heard a plea seeking legal action against Prince Harry for not fulfilling an alleged promise to marry a woman from Punjab, LiveLaw shared in a tweet.

The plea had sought for an arrest warrant to be issued against the British royal, "so that no further delay would occur in the marriage."

The court dismissed the case, calling it “nothing but a day-dreamer’s fantasy."

On being asked if the petitioner had ever travelled to the UK, she said that she hadn't and had only communicated with the 'prince' via emails.

The court noted that, “It is a well-known fact that fake IDs are created on various social media sites like Facebook, Twitter etc....There is every possibility that so-called Prince Harry may be sitting in a Cyber Cafe of a village in Punjab...”


According to Bar & Bench, the petitioner also claimed to have sent messages to Prince Charles claiming that his son Prince Harry is engaged to her.


Meanwhile, the real Prince Harry - unaware of any of this - has returned to the UK from his new home in California, to attend his grandfather, Prince Philip's funeral.
