Kangana Ranaut has a word of advice for Bollywood: “Stay away from politics!”

The ‘Queen’ actress is in no mood to engage in political debates or speculate on the socio-political implications of ‘Pathaan’s phenomenal success at the box office, she wants the Bolly fraternity to keep themselves to entertaining people and not make a political statement.

As the SRK and Deepika Padukone starrer continues to demolish box office records. Amid the ‘Pathaan’ craze, Ranaut, who is famous for her explosive statements, took to Twitter and slammed those who have been writing about the film being the ultimate “triumph over hate” and warned Bollywood people to “stay away from politics."

“Bollywood walon yeh narrative banane ki koshish mat karna ki iss desh mein tum Hindu hate se suffer kar rahe ho, agar maine phir se yeh word suna ‘triumph over hate’ toh tum logon ki wahi class lagegi jo kal lagi thi ( “People in Bollywood have created a narrative about suffering from Hindu hate in this country. If I hear another comment on 'triumph over hate', I will take another class")

This tweet is probably another potshot at Karan Johar, who celebrated ‘Pathaan’s box-office success on his Instagram handle with the caption, “Love forever trumps hate.”

Earlier, the ‘Tanu Weds Manu’ actress had lambasted the movie for allegedly portraying Pakistan in a positive light and claimed it was India’s penchant for inclusiveness and tolerance that led to the huge response at the box office.

She also suggested that the film’s name be changed to ‘Indian Pathan’ as India was a secular democracy and not a theocracy like Afghanistan. Referring to the Taliban rule in Afghanistan, she wrote, “the crux is India will never be Afghanistan, we all know what is happening in Afghanistan, it’s beyond hell there, so apt name for the movie Pathan according to its storyline is the ‘Indian Pathan’.”

The Siddharth Anand directorial is a gigantic hit at both the domestic as well as the overseas box office. It crosses Rs 300 crore globally in just three days.
