In a fresh development in the Sushant Singh Rajput death probe, the late actor's girlfriend, Rhea Chakraborty's lawyer Satish Maneshinde, on Wednesday, said that a special court will hear the bail applications of Rhea and her brother Showik, on Thursday.

Rhea, who was sent to a 14-day judicial custody yesterday in connection to the alleged 'drug link', was shifted from the Narcotics Control Bureau (NCB) office in South Bombay to Byculla jail on Wednesday morning, after the court rejected her bail plea on Tuesday.

Chakraborty, after having spent the night in the NCB lock-up, stepped out of the anti-drug agency office at 10:15 am on Wednesday and was taken to Byculla jail by the agency officials, PTI reported.

Earlier on Tuesday, after undergoing a medical test, Chakraborty was presented before the court via video conferencing. The NCB had told the court that she was an "active member" of a drugs syndicate and procured drugs for Rajput, her boyfriend.

The NCB, however, said it did not want her custody as it had already questioned her for three days and the court rejected Chakraborty's bail application.

The agency has obtained mobile phone chat records and other electronic data that suggested some banned drugs were allegedly procured.
