HIGHLIGHT: World’s first smartphone with Gimbal camera setup
Over the last few years, cameras have become an important part of smartphones. There are smartphones whose key high-light and biggest talking point is often the camera tech and/or camera performance. The Vivo X50 Pro is one such device. It boasts of some firsts in smartphone cameras. Incidentally, this is not the first phone from Vivo to focus on camera prowess.

Priced at Rs 49,990, the handset has a gimbal camera system, which offers a sensor that physically moves to capture a moving and shaking object rather than relying solely on OIS or EIS. For this, the company has a custom primary sensor, made by Sony. It also uses a 48MP IMX598 sensor, which is able to capture both videos and images with almost no shakes, especially when compared with other handsets.

Other camera sensors on Vivo X50 Pro include a 13MP portrait lens, an 8MP super wide-angle lens and an 8MP periscope telephoto lens, which helped us capture images that were rich in colours. Thanks to Super Night Mode 3.0, the phone can also click images with full details in pitch darkness.

Besides the camera, another strength of the device is its de-sign. It is easily one of the best-looking handsets from Vivo, with dual-curved design and a glass matte back finish.

Hardware-wise, the handset is powered by a Qualcomm Snap-dragon 765G processor, making it 5G-enabled. This, paired with 8GB RAM and 256GB internal storage, is enough for most users. The device is pretty fast and smooth. The phone comes with a 4315mAh battery paired with 33W Vivo Flashcharge support. This will largely last users for over a day, with standard usage. Vivo X50 Pro has a 6.5-inch Super AMOLED screen that is complemented with a 90Hz refresh rate, further enhancing the viewing experience.

When it comes to software, you get Android 10-based Fun-touch OS 10.5 which, on the one hand, offers customisations that make it possible for users to customise the device to the T but, on the other hand, packs some bloatware.

With Vivo X50 Pro, the company has managed to offer a hand-set that not only is a camera powerhouse, but also offers premium looks and lag-free performance.
