    Deloitte India has appointed tax expert Shefali Goradia as its next chairperson, effective April 1, following the end of incumbent Atul Dhawan's term.

    She will also head the governing board of the company.

    A new management committee, with some new faces taking on leadership roles, has also been put in place to oversee the running of the company's operations and drive its growth strategy forward.

    The service line leaders are Samir Shah (Assurance), Gokul Chaudhri (Tax), Satish Gopalaiah (Consulting), Anthony Crasto (Risk Advisory), Uday Bhansali (Financial Advisory), and Ritesh Sanyal (Trust and Compliance).

    Nitin Kini will be the firm’s COO incharge of running operations.

    The leadership team is taking over after an impressive eight-year period of growth under the leadership of N Venkatram, during which time the firm's top line grew by four-and-a-half times.

    Deloitte's advisory business has been scaling up fast in the last few years, and the change comes at an opportune time.

    As part of overhaul, a set of partners has also been put in place to drive functions and ensure that the company's operations run smoothly.

    Debasish Mishra will be the Chief Growth Officer and responsible for the go-to-market strategy, while Deepti Sagar will be the Chief People and Experience Officer. Ananthi Amarnath will manage Partner Matters, Saraswathi Kasturirangan will be the Chief Happiness Officer, and Kamlesh Mittal will handle Independence and Legal, Internal Compliance.

    Srikumar V will be the Corporate Development Head and Advisor to the CEO.

    To keep up with the company's increasing demands, Deloitte has been aggressively hiring, and 55 directors have been promoted to partners, 28% of whom are women, effective April 1.Incidentally, 5 women have been elected into the executive committee.
