Progress & patriotism go hand in hand, One cannot achieve progress without Patriotism

There is a great deal of polarization in our society today. While far-right nationalists claim to be the sole defenders of the American way of life, far-left activists portray the United States as an evil force in the world. In the culture wars, the patriotic sentiment that unites Americans may become another victim.

All Americans who wish to build a better tomorrow and solve today's pressing challenges should take note of this. Patriotism is essential to advancing our society and human progress, as it unites Americans.
There is no evidence to support the claim that patriotism and right-wing nationalism are synonymous. The majority of Americans do not belong to the far right, but are patriotic nonetheless.

Biologically, humans have a tribal mind-set that can lead to a "us versus them" mentality, making it difficult to find common ground.

Forming and maintaining group identities is also essential to bring individuals of a society togather. In a society with such diverse, dynamic and freedom as USA’s, it can be especially challenging, but it is essential for the future health plus human advancement in general.

Thus the differentiation between nationalism and patriotism becomes of utmost importance here. Patriotism is more than a shared identity which binds Americans together. This can motivate them to believe and work for a better future thus also benefit generations to come. Americans, in general, need to keep an optimistic mindset to face the challenges of time.

Americans, are quite optimistic about what the future holds for their nation and the world.

A positive and shared national identity will support the general mindset which will ensure that USA remains a land of opportunity that it currently is!
