NEW DELHI: Land records of almost all villages across national capital have been digitised as part of efforts to bring transparency and weed out corruption, Delhi government said today.

The move will ensure that citizens will no longer be required to visit the revenue offices in order to get land records.

A senior officer of the Revenue Department said that land records of all villages of Delhi except for the villages of North District have been digitised and digitally signed from today.

There are about 356 villages in the national capital.

"Record of rights (ROR) can be obtained from the Citizen Service Centers at the respective district offices or can also be downloaded from the website - dlrc.delhigovt.nic.in.

"The district offices have been directed to prominently display the list of villages and khatas which are yet to digitally signed at the notice boards and the respective district websites," the officer said.

The digital khatas of North District will also be completed very shortly, official also said.

"The digitisation of land records will ensure that no tampering in records is made by revenue field functionaries. Now the digitally signed records of rights will be available 24x7 in public domain and can be downloaded by citizens anywhere and anytime," officer further said.

With this online system, the government will seek to bring to an end the arduous and corruption-ridden process of getting hold of authentic land records for properties in Delhi's villages.

Through this online database, people can get a view into the property land record and its legal status. People can then cross-check the land status through the maps put up showing the ground situation. Any discrepancy can be pointed out immediately.
