ISpA: PM Modi launches industry body to advance the cause of private space tech companies
Modi, who heard a plethora of suggestions from corporate houses including Sunil Bharti MIttal, chairman of Bharti Airtel and PJ Nath from Nelco, a Tata Enterprise along with Rohan Verma of MapmyIndia and a bunch of startups said his government will work closely with the industry to resolve the issues plaguing the private sector. The industry mostly flagged concerts regarding long and tedious regulatory approvals as an impediment.
Modi said ISRO, which was one of the handful of globally end-to-end capable space institutions, would work as an aggregator to help the private sector by lending its assets for the private sector to deploy and further innovate upon.
