Lindel Eakman from Foundry Group and Auth0’s Eugenio Pace will join HiHello’s board.

The company will use the fresh funding for hiring and expanding its business platform.

Founded by Kumar in 2018, Palo Alto, California-based HiHello claims to have users in 147 countries. In February 2019, it raised $2.5 million in a seed round led by August Capital, K9 Ventures and TenOneTen Ventures. Kumar is a serial entrepreneur, as he co-founded CardMunch (acquired by LinkedIn) and Carta (now valued at over $6.9 billion). He also manages K9 Ventures, a pre-seed venture capital fund that has been an early investor in Lyft, Twilio and Auth0.

“While HiHello started as a free app, we had people wanting to pay us for premium features,” Kumar said in a statement. “Companies are now realising that they can use a software solution to manage their business cards, networking, and contact management needs, which is more sustainable and beneficial than physical cards.”

According to Eakman, HiHello is the first company to develop a digital business card platform that is truly focused on the end user experience.

“Physical business cards are outdated and difficult to manage, especially for enterprise companies,” Eakman said. We’ve seen exciting growth with HiHello’s digital business cards—companies are realising how powerful virtual cards are when it comes to networking.”
