    Verizon DMS partners with Airtel to expand India footprint

    NEW DELHI: Verizon Digital Media Services has tied up with Bharti Airtel to launch new points of presence in four cities of Mumbai, Chennai, Bangalore and New Delhi.

    "We are expanding our content delivery network in strategic markets that our customers care about, and we have found a long-term partner in Airtel Business," Verizon Digital Media Services Chief Technology Officer Rob Peters said in a statement.

    The addition of four PoPs will enable Verizon digital Media Services, which caters to enterprise segment, to transmit media content from close destination to its customers. This will reduce the amount of time required on Verizon Digital Media Services; servers to receive users' requests, respond and deliver results, the statement said.

    Verizon Digital Media Services has more than 3,000 points of presence across North America, South America, Europe, Australia and Asia.

    "This collaboration ensures superior user experiences and seamlessly handles traffic spikes as connected devices, subscribers and content size continue to grow," Bharti Airtel Director & CEO-Global Voice & Data Business Ajay Chitkara said.
