“A large country like ours has an abundance of challenges as well as talent and passion to solve them. But building a sustainable social enterprise takes more than passion,” said Venkatesh Panchapagesan, NSRCEL’s chairman and professor in the finance-and-accounting department of Indian Institute of Management, Bangalore. “With very strong commitment from Capgemini, the NSRCEL is confident in creating a platform that can set a global benchmark for developing entrepreneurs who are ready to make a lasting impact on the society that they serve."

The Capgemini Innovation and Applied Innovation Exchange teams, supported by Innovation Leader Nisheeth Srivastava, will mentor the startups selected in the incubation program, Capgemini’s India CSR lead Kumar Anurag Pratap said.

“We look forward to amplifying opportunities to nurture promising early-stage social ventures at IIMB and empower them to scale up in order to be capable of addressing social problems and delivering sustained real-world impact.”

As part of the NSRCEL Social program, early-stage ventures—companies not older than two years with a minimum of six months of groundwork—will be shortlisted for a three-month pre-incubation phase. During this stage, entrepreneurs will be engaged in capacity-building workshops and sessions by sector-specific experts to enrich their technical know-how. The entrepreneurs will get an opportunity to network with more than 800 ventures from previous cohorts at NSRCEL.

Post pre-incubation, the ventures will be given an opportunity to pitch to NSRCEL for a 12-month incubation journey.
